This is the cabin my wife and I have built in La Junta, Aysen, Patagonia, Chile. It is a double walled earthbag structure insulated against extreme weather conditions by a simple Passive Annual Heat Storage system and almost 50 tons of Turf. The turf provides great strength and rain protection and enables the house to become a part of the land. Currently we are building 150 meters of Turf wall around the garden to the house.
Our cabin sits above the confluence of two rivers, the Rio Rosselot and Rio Palena. We have a spectacular ever changing view and we spend most of our days, by the window, our dining - computer table sits next to it.
