Bought by my great-grandfather for $50. He got 11 acres on Georgetown Island, Maine on a plot of land with no road. Still, the only way in is by boat. We share it with the entire family. All eight brothers and sisters and all of their kids, some of whom who are now having kids. At night it’s so dark you can’t tell if your eyes are closed or open.
Built in 1978 over a nine month period without power tools while living in a tent next to the site. About a week after moving into the cabin, during the night a large alder fell through the middle of the tent. This was home for several years.
